Story

The first track and theme song, The Road to Nowhere, begins the journey and accounts for the emotional baggage we all carry around.  The signals are everywhere but hard to decipher.

Lyrics

I was thinking life was going really well
The blues are gone and I am feeling like a rebel
Love is near and showing sign of hope
My troubles are few and drifting out of scope

Still something doesn’t seem right
There are long shadows from the fire light
The path is covered with fog around the bend
I need a long conversation with afriend
Cause I’m traveling on the road to nowhere

There are signs all around and there’re screwin’ with my head
The signals should be clear but they must be misread
I have chains on my heart andfire in my soul
There’s no time to spare; I’m losing control
I’m traveling on the road to nowhere
Traveling on the road to nowhere

I know I have seen this path before
And I know to never look back I swore
So why am I feeling the same old emotions
Staring out at the ships on the ocean
Cause I’m traveling on the road to nowhere

There are signs allaround and there’re screwin’ with my head
The signals should be clear but they must be misread
I have chains on my heart andfire in my soul
There’s no time to spare; I’m losing control
I’m traveling on the road to nowhere
Traveling on the road to nowhere

I’m traveling on the road to nowhere

Story

The Storm is a symbolic metaphor to the crisis’ we face each day.  Be it small or life changing, challenges in life are the catalysts for change.  We cannot avoid them and simply need to ride out the storm.

Lyrics

There’s a storm coming
And I don’t know where to hide
Got a lot to lose plus my foolish pride
Dark clouds are forming and it’s blowing outside
And there’s no way to avoid the flood tide

As the lighting shoots fire
And the thunder draws near
My confidence weakens and is re placed with fear
A few drops are falling and the skies are unclear
Looks like the worst storm all year

The power of this storm is more than I can shake
It’s stronger than any force I can wake
Gota find me a shelter and some comfort for the night
In the morning I’ll have the strength to fight

The rain is pouring down
And the wind is blowing strong
I’m out there walking, not knowing where I belong
Humming a soothing tune the one I’ve sung lifelong
Wishing this trouble is not pro longed
I cannot image what I’ve done wrong

It seems we created the perfect winter storm
A storm you and I needed to finally transform
Our lives into something more like something reborn

The power of this storm is more than I can shake
It’s stronger than any force I can wake
Gota find me a shelter and some comfort for the night
In the morning I’ll have the strength to fight.
And in the morning I’ll have the strength to fight.

Story

Where Do You Go takes you to a place of total loss.  When you have nothing left and nowhere to go.  Although being a song about a breakup, the inspiration came from the people caught up in the terrible fire season out west and the devastating natural disasters in 2012.

Lyrics

Drivin’ aimlessly across the land
I saw the mistakes and destruction first hand
Like a firestorm in May

We did some things that hurt you and I
You said that’s it and screamed goodbye
And the storm raged all day

Where do you go
When you can’t go home
And your friends don’t know
You’re on your own
Do you lean on the people nearby?
Trying not to cry

So here I am standing in limbo
Looking through a cut-glass window
But it’s just me looking back

I tried to see where it all when wrong
Guess we were not secure and strong
Maybe I was on the wrong track

Where do you go
When you can’t go home
And your friends don’t know
You’re on your own
Do you lean on the people nearby?
Trying not to cry

Wandering this world and not knowing where I am

Tell me where can I go
When I can’t go home
And my friends don’t know
I’m on my own
Can I lean on the people nearby?
Trying not to cry

Story

The Fight introduces a piano to the band.  Like living in a daze, the song journals the events and emotions of a event that ends the relationship.

Lyrics

The impressions in my mind
Are like daggers to my heart
They hurt like you were inclined
To slay me from the start
The words you said still make me dread the memory of the fight

Reaching back in time
I can see the long hard climb
The rush of your sweet love
Is gone and void of
Any hope and prayer of repair after the fight

Ramblin’ on about our foolish pride
Swearin’ we never told a lie
The secrets left denied
The walls we built real and implied
They left us untied

Doesn’t it feels so trite
The harsh words of our fight
How we tore it down
And told the whole damn town
The looks we got when we told the lot of the memory of the fight

Now that we are through
Throwing rocks, stones and lies
Done with our debut
Making sure of our demise
It’s all destroyed and we’re left alone after the fight

Ramblin’ on about our foolish pride
Swearin’ we never told a lie
The secrets left denied
The walls we built real and implied
They left us untied

Story

Dreams Aren’t Working Anymore talks about how we cope with loss, creating our own imaginary world for a short time.  Life is perfect in our made up space, but it only lasts for a while before reality sets in.

Lyrics

There were times when I was lonely and confused
Broken battered and abused
I couldn’t see my way past you and yesterday
You threw away all I had to say

Now I’m simply hunting for some peace
Placing memories out on the streets
Running from my past wanting a contrast
To feel the last of a love that’s past

But in my dreams I have someone
Who will love me in the long run
Like an eagle I can soar
I am lonely no more
But lately, these dreams aren’t working anymore

Tomorrow is what I am hoping for
Looking for a brand new door
Gona find my way back to a love that’s on track
I can see a shining light

And in my dreams I have someone
Who will love me in the long run
Like an eagle I can soar
I am lonely no more
But lately, these dreams aren’t working anymore

In my dreams I have someone
Who will love me in the long run
Like an eagle I can soar
I am lonely no more
But for now, my dreams aren’t working anymore

Story

Leading Me On reflects our doubt when new relationships begin or when we attempt to deny the loss and bargain with reality.

Lyrics

I was talking to you the other day
Looking for the meaning in what you say
Trying to keep from misreading the lines
Biting my tongue to stay within the con fines

When we talk and laugh it’s easy to imagine
A time and a place where there is some passion
The world disappears and all that is left
Is an endless time with our love and needs confessed

I gota know, are you leading me on?
Is a love with you a dream or fore gone?
Should I move on and not be drawn
To the chance we could build a new dawn

The things you say seem so intimate and private
Like you’re telling me your secrets to survive it
Giving me hints we could share a little more
Girl you’re driving me crazy; I’m begging for mercy on the floor

Every time we part I want to die
Cause I won’t see you laugh; oh how I sigh
When you talk so sweet I get lost in your gender
I play along to keep it light but I surrender

I gota know, are you leading me on?
Is a love with you a dream or fore gone?
Should I move on and not be drawn
To the chance we could build a new dawn

I gota know, are you leading me on?
Is a love with you a dream or fore gone?
Should I move on and not be drawn
To the chance we could build a new dawn

Games You Play talks about the time when you finally give up and get away from the negativity of a bad relationship, be it romantic or otherwise.

Lyrics

Was a cold sunny morning the day I left home
The day my soul began to roam
The trees lined the road showing me the way
Hoping they wouldn’t lead me astray

I could see for miles through the mountains
Sunlight and dust flowed like fountains
Not a soul in sight since late last night
Except for the ghosts of my life
The flashes of memory cut like a knife

These scenes in my mind, seems I can’t leave behind
Enraged by the deeds of love’s different needs
Crushed by your words I have flown like a bird
Sailing far from the games you played

I was angry at the world; seeking revenge
Looking for any fight I could avenge
Vowing to settle ignoring all advice
Acting on whims; throwing the dice

A long winding highway lay ahead
Waiting for the end of the thread
The feeling of despair is raging all around
Comfort is nowhere to be found
Drifting over the streets in a ghost town

These scenes in my mind, seems I can’t leave behind
Enraged by the deeds of love’s different needs
Crushed by your words I have flown like a bird
Sailing far from the games you played

These scenes in my mind, I will try to leave behind
At peace with the deeds of love’s different needs
Crushed by your words I have flown like a bird
Sailing far from the games you played

Story

Life of Regrets is an upbeat reflection of the thing we do to get by in life.  We lie, cheat and steal to get ahead sometimes and all to get nowhere.  After a while we realize it’s all in vain and getting back to honesty and close friends is the only thing that matters.

Lyrics

I was sitin’ by the counter in the neighborhood diner at the cross roads of lonely and tired
There were people all around but only empty sounds. The room was filled with desire
With coffee in hand I laid out my plan to waste yet another day
I had 16 hours and too little power to turn my life another way

This life of regrets is killing me; I have nowhere left to turn
I’ve made too many threats; placed too many bets with far few days to burn.

Rolling through time with a dozen dimes the hours all seemed like a blur
Walking the streets on my aching feet that’s me the entrepreneur
I was selling my goods; haunting the hoods to make enough money to eat
I have 8 more hours before I can shower to make another day complete

This life of regrets is killing me; I have nowhere left to turn
I’ve made too many threats; placed too many bets with far few days to burn.

Days roll on unchecked
Nights are long regrets
Weeks turn onto mouths; months into years
Where we all end up is always unclear

The things I done have made me the one to see all the people in pain
Told too many lies to too many lives with nothing to show as a gain.
It’s late September and I can’t remember walking on solid ground
My friends have gone and good will has been pawned; To a life of regrets I am bound.

This life of regrets is killing me; I have nowhere left to turn
I’ve made too many threats; placed too many bets with far few days to burn.
I’ve got far few days to burn
I’ve got one less day to burn

Story

Old Soul contrasts physical age and the age of our soul.  Souls of a certain age always migrate together regardless of a person’s physical age.

Lyrics

I’ve heard some people say an old soul is dead
You look at their faces and the drive has fled

I listen and look around at the people in this room
I see in their eyes who are lonely with gloom

There are young minds with old souls wise beyond their years
And young souls who are seasoned well beyond their peers

Who’s to say where each of us fall into place
Life is a mystery with us all running the race

But this old soul still dreams
And this old soul has means
This old soul can still cry
And will love till the day I die

It’s been my observation old souls seek out old souls
As friends and lovers with each playing their roles

Regardless of a clock’s time or the plights life has bestowed
There are reasons we must travel along life’s lonely road

I’ve heard May December romance can succeed
It seems the age of souls should be matched to a tee

When life’s clock runs out and our time in this world has ended
It’s the friends and lovers we’ve known that life had intended

This old soul still dreams
And this old soul has means
This old soul can still cry
And will love till the day I die

I’m an Old Soul running through the fields of life
The clock is ticking faster and it flies away like a kite
My heart is young and burning with desire
Come close and I’ll show you this soul’s fire

And this old soul still dreams
This old soul has means
This old soul can still cry
And will love till the day I die

The wheels of time move on; emotions always churn
The bad will turn to good and the good will always burn

Want Your Love describes our salvation – Love.

Lyrics

When I awoke this morning, I was thinking of you
‘bout the time we last met looking forward to our next
And I thought of sweet times and us two
How you alwaysleave me perplexed
And I thought I want your love

I laid there for a while just taking it all in
Felt like holding you tight to keep you near
Floating my hand across your skin
Oh my God, I wish you were here
And I thought I want your love

I want your love and for you to know
That whatever happens during your day
This love will only grow
So here me when I say
I want your love

I want a safe and loving place
Like living in satin and lace
To have and to hold
Until we grow old
I want your love

And now its day’s end and I am thinking of you
‘bout our long tender talks and the exciting highs
I wish you knew
And under stood the why
I want your love

I want your love and for you to know
That whatever happens during your day
This love will only grow
So here me when I say
I want your love

Want your love
